Mr David Bell
Mr David Bell is a leading consultant neurosurgeon in neurospinal surgery. He specialises in complex disorders of the spine, including pain, trauma and disease, except for scoliosis.
Mr Bell divides his clinical treatment time between his private practices at London Bridge Hospital, The Shard Outpatients Clinic and Canary Wharf Outpatients, all part of HCA Healthcare UK, and sees NHS patients at King's College Hospital.
While many spinal disorders do not need surgery, Mr Bell aims to treat patients non-surgically before considering invasive procedures, and he is trained in minimally invasive techniques.
Education and experience
Mr Bell brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the field. After attaining his medical degree in Edinburgh in 1996, he went on to complete specialist training in Complex Spinal Neurosurgery in London before becoming a Complex Spinal Neurosurgeon at King's College Hospital, London, in 2008, where he was acting regional clinical lead for spinal cancer and trauma until 2020, providing exceptional standards of treatment.
Memberships
Mr Bell was the Regional Network Lead for Southeast London and Kent between 2015 and 2021, and he was an executive member of the British Association of Spinal Surgeons. He also served as the National Lead for the British Spinal Registry (BSR), a national quality improvement tool that ensures the very best surgical care across the UK.
